Do Yourself a Favor by Starting to Love your Home

pink home

I just realized now how fitting it is to identify our home by its “address”. Just like “a dress” it reflects our style and personality. We usually choose a home that fits our needs, wants and lifestyle…similar to how we select our clothes. We both invest in our clothing and our homes. The only difference is; we can easily replace our clothes, while we’re stuck with our home until the next time we sell it.

In time, some homeowners stop caring for their home due to their busy lifestyle, lack of creative ideas or they just simply would not be bothered to spend time or a dime to improve it. In the end, their house simply becomes a shelter. A place to go to at the end of a long day’s work. A storage for their personal belongings. A security blanket that they end up paying for the rest of their working lives.

If we are going to treat our homes this way, then you won’t feel the true joy of home ownership. You might as well rent and invest your money somewhere else.

Having a nice and well-maintained home will not only benefit the occupants, but will also be very rewarding when it’s time to sell. The beauty and comfort of your home will be felt and seen by its future buyers. If you cared for it from the start, then there’s no need to spend on costly repairs or renovations when you sell it. Most extensive home repairs starts from small repairs that were neglected. To add, if you continue to love and care for your home, then there’s no need to undergo major renovations to make it look presentable.

Thus, if you haven’t started caring for your home, now is a good time to start! Whether you’re planning to sell it in the near future or not, a well-loved home will always be better than a tired old dwelling.

Decorating Your Home on a Budget

Our home is our castle. We all want to be in-charge, care for it and decorate it to our heart’s content. The only problem is, not all of us have the budget to update our homes.

However, upon seeing these budget makeovers in HGTV.com; “get the look for less” I was amazed with how you can execute designer looks for a minimal cost.

Here are my favorite makeovers:

Sophisticated Bedroom

Sunset Bedroom

Jade Dining Room

French Provincial Sitting Room

Decorating on a budget can be limiting for some, but not anymore with these fabulous ideas from HGTV. It’s not about being cheap, but being creative with the limited budget you have.

I hope you enjoy these makeovers as much as I did. May the design inspirations make your home more comfortable, presentable and come selling time, more valuable.
